Steph is responsible for teaching inspiring and engaging math classes at Eagle Rock. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Steph had inspirational teachers and instructors that propelled her into pursuing a career in education. While working on her B.S. in Earth Sciences at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Steph also worked at the university’s recreation program leading fellow students and peers on backpacking, rock climbing, and sea kayaking adventures. Since graduating in 2016, Steph has held instructor positions at Ventana Wilderness Alliance, the Chadwick School, UC Santa Cruz Wilderness Orientation, Adventure Risk Challenge, and the Colorado Outward Bound School. During that time, Steph was also a Math Apprentice and Gap Faculty at the High Mountain Institute and Interim Director of Adventure Outings at the UC Santa Cruz Recreation office. Steph has facilitated positive wilderness and educational experiences in much of the Sierra Nevada, Big Sur and other coastal and desert areas in California, southern Nevada, Southern Utah, the Rockies of Colorado, Northwestern Arizona, and Chilean Patagonia.
