Sarah Bertucci

Director of Professional Development

Sarah is our Director of Curriculum. She oversees our academic curriculum and learning experiences for students, and supports staff to create engaging, experiential learning opportunities. Sarah’s journey as an educator began here at Eagle Rock in 1994 when she served as a summer intern during Eagle Rock’s first summer of operation. Sarah has taught in traditional public schools, innovative/alternative public schools, international schools and independent schools — mostly as a science teacher. She was the Program Coordinator for Big Picture South Burlington, a school-within-a-school that was focused on individualized, real-world learning. She also facilitated school district transformation as part of the Partnership for Change in Burlington and Winooski, VT. Prior to her current role, Sarah was a member of the Professional Development Center Team here at Eagle Rock. Sarah earned her Bachelors in Geosciences from Princeton University, with a Minor in Education. She earned her Masters from Skidmore College with an emphasis on transforming students’ self-perceptions through success in math and science. She lives in Estes with her partner, Jason, and their two young children.
