Nathaniel Phillipps

2020/2021 Public Allies Fellow

Nathaniel graduated from the 5th largest school district in the nation–at a time when only one of two Black male students did. That abominable inequity is one that compels him to teaching and learning as an avenue for social transformation. Nathaniel has organized alongside, mentored, and supervised students of various ages and advocated within institutional spaces for equity and justice. His most memorable experience was as a project assistant for on an experimental international human rights education program across four continents.  Nathaniel brings to Eagle Rock a background rooted in empowering underrepresented groups and cultivating relationships and empathy across difference, in addition to years implementing political and community advocacy and civic engagement programs. He is an alumnus of The Graduate Program in International Affairs at The New School in New York City’s West Village, The University of Nevada Las Vegas, and the historic Las Vegas Academy of The Arts, and a proud founding member of Black Youth Project (BYP)100.
