Eagle Rock Collaborates with TeachingPartners

On July 20th & 21 Eagle Rock will collaborate with TeachingPartners on campus in Estes Park, Colorado as they film Eagle Rock’s Professional Development work with Goodwill Industries. TeachingPartners brings individuals, organizations, and communities together to help place teachers firmly in the center of their professional development plan, and they ensure that every teacher has the sustained training he/she needs to flourish in his/her career and make a difference in his/her classroom.

TeachingPartners has reached out to a range of organizations and individuals across the education spectrum to include as many types of approaches and practices as possible so that teachers – wherever they are – can access and use them in the classroom. Their only criteria is that these approaches are excellent and effective. Some of these organizations include the Eagle Rock’s Professional Development Center, Big Picture Learning, the Smithsonian, and the National Academy Foundation. TeachingPartners is working with Mobile Digital Arts. MDA has been producing films and videos about education reform and innovation for ten years for PBS, Edutopia, Teaching Channel, the MacArthur Foundation and many other education-based organizations and companies.

TeachingPartners will be on campus on Monday, July 20th to capture our work with Goodwill Industriesrevolving around communicating learning targets and criteria for success. (This is a well acknowledged practiced supported by the Visible Learning research and well described in Advancing Formative Assessment in Every Classroom by Moss and Brookhart).
The Goodwill teachers/facilitators we’ll be working with are in 37 Denver and northern Colorado area schools providing much needed career development assistance to at-risk students On Tuesday, July 21 they will capture the very same communicating learning targets and criteria for success strategy at Eagle Rock School as it’s something that our own instructors are working on.
