Role Description

Eagle Rock School and Professional Development Center (Eagle Rock / ERS), is seeking an Operations team associate with both technology and facilities maintenance experience. Primarily, this person will be responsible for overseeing the technological infrastructure of our residential school campus. Their main areas of focus will include computers and related peripheral resources, network administration, database development and administration, audiovisual systems, and technological support for staff and students. Additionally, they will assist other members of the operations team with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, to ensure the safety and sustainability of our 629-acre campus and its 30+ buildings. Desirable candidates will be able to both independently execute day-to-day technology operations, as well as be willing to roll up their sleeves to quickly tackle facility maintenance activities and issues. 

The ideal candidate will bring a business sensibility to the operations of the school, making the daily operation of the school as cost-effective and time-efficient as possible, while maintaining a high degree of student, staff and resident satisfaction. This role supports the school’s mission by setting the “tone” of the school as a warm, safe and friendly environment, and by supporting our commitment to antiracism and social justice, while being committed to each student’s success. This position will report to the Director of Operations and will work full time, Monday through Friday (with occasional weekend days on rotation).


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge in setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of Mac OS X based computers and MS Windows based computers
  • Knowledge in the deployment of distributed computer networks; wired and wireless, including requisite hardware and administration
  • Working understanding of major software suites and cloud-based services, including but not limited to MS Office, Apple iWork and iLife, Google Docs and email services, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in audio/visual design, setup and operation
  • Facilities maintenance experience, including familiarity with various trade skills: carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, groundskeeping, electrical trades
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience in the safe operation of a variety of tools, machinery and power equipment used in performing essential functions
  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract concrete variables. 
  • Strong customer service background is desirable
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to
    interact/communicate with all members of the community (students, teachers, administrators, board members and parents)



  • Oversee purchase of, maintenance of, and support of ERS computer resources, including but not limited to: servers, desktop computers, laptop computers, iPads, printers, scanners and copiers
  • Maintain Eagle Rock’s network infrastructure including hardwired and wi-fi assets
  • Provide and maintain internet access to ERS Campus
  • Develop and manage comprehensive ERS database. Support and manage ERS media file server.
  • Purchase and maintain ERS audiovisual resources
  • Provide individual support to ERS students and staff concerning use of technology resources
  • Support students and staff with various requests: creating documents/forms/reports, graphic design, video recording/editing services
  • Proactively engage with ERS staff and students to understand current and future technology needs
  • Assist with Library management
  • Develop and maintain technology budget

Facilities Maintenance

  • Install and maintain various emergency and security systems that enable campus emergency alerts (e.g. PA System), access (e.g. smart locks and intercom system), and video monitoring
  • Inspect campus grounds to ensure that all facilities are suitable for safe operations, and maintained in an attractive and clean condition
  • Basic maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of campus facilities: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping, mechanical
  • Snow removal on the roads, driveways, paths, steps and roofs
  • Attend to emergencies outside the normal school hours and programming, including and not limited to: snowplowing, responding to fire alarms, HVAC outages and plumbing issues

Operations Team Expectations

  • Communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form and maintain confidentiality
  • Track and communicate the status of project requests to the Director of Operations and other interested parties to ensure timely feedback and accountability
  • Maintain records to document activities and ensure an up-to-date reference
  • Hold sacred and secure the confidentiality of personal and sensitive information managed by the Associate

Student Support and Community Participation

  • Duties related to residential school membership may include participating in any of the following: community meetings, chores, transporting students, residential programming, service projects and community events
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the community
  • Support adolescents as they are confronted with a variety of issues related to their personal and academic growth
  • Create opportunities for students to participate in activities that excite and empower them, to increase their engagement in the community and learn new skills and interests
  • Participate in internal professional development to better support students
  • Participate in weekly diversity, equity and inclusion staff time
  • Be an active member of the Eagle Rock community beyond this job description

Physical Essential Job Functions

  • Ability to perform strenuous physical effort as needed; this position may require extended periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling or crawling
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry objects of up to 50 lbs
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
