Estes Park Trail Gazette – Estes Valley residents get muddy for recovery

Estes Valley residents got “down and dirty” Saturday for the Flood Mud Volleyball tournament at the Fairgrounds at Stanley Park. The event was a “fun-raiser” for flood recover efforts.

Temperatures in the 50s made for a cold day for many of the competitors who got dirty for flood relief. The day included volleyball, food and live music. Prizes were awarded for best team theme/costume, most money raised and first place in the tournament.

Donations were also accepted on site for Crossroads Ministries.

Eagle Rock student Nick Hayden seems okay with being covered in mud on Saturday. Hayden and many more played volleyball in the mud of the Stanley Fairgrounds in the Flood Mud Volleyball tournament, a fund-raiser for Estes Valley flood relief. (Walt Hester / Trail-Gazette)
