Students and staff from Eagle Rock School will be going to Potato Creek and Pine Ridge on the Pine Ridge Reservation. They will be leaving Dec. 2 for their annual Christmas party and gift giveaway. They are asking once again for new and near-new winter clothing — winter hats, coats, gloves, boots, etc.
They are also asking for new presents in the following age groups: infant-3 years; 4-6 years; 7-9 years; 10-12 years; 13-15 years; and 16-18 years. If you could wrap the present and mark “boy” or “girl” and the age on the outside of the wrapping paper, they would appreciate it.
In addition, they are looking for a Christmas tree and stand, lights, tinsel, bulbs and other ornaments for the tree. They give this away to a family after the party.
The staff and students are requesting donations of canned food, toiletries, dish soap, toilet paper and anything else someone would like to donate. They will accept checks. Please make out the check to: Eagle Rock School. These extra funds are used to purchase the odd gift needed for the kids or to purchase propane to heat the home where they are staying.
Those making the trip are accepting gifts seven days a week, starting Nov. 9 through Nov. 30, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Eagle Rock School, 2750 Notaiah Rd. If you have any questions, call Tim Phelps at (970) 586-7125.
