A Message From Our New Head of School, Megan Rebeiro

January 4, 2021

I am deeply honored to serve as the next Head of School of Eagle Rock School and Professional Development Center. I am humbled to follow the brilliant and compassionate leadership of Jeff Liddle and our founding Head, Robert Burkhardt.

It is a great privilege to watch students engage in their own transformations. There is a strength and vulnerability in that. Our job, as members of a learning community, is to continue to create and foster an optimal environment for students to be challenged, to thrive, and to shine.

As Head of School, I will drive our organizational priority: diversity, equity, and inclusion. We will continue to center conversations around race and keep equity at the forefront of what we do and who we are. As a community, we will continually examine systems, take action, and disrupt systemic racism and the continued oppression of traditionally marginalized groups.

I look forward to deepening our graduation requirements, strengthening our school culture, creating sustainable restorative practices, and fostering a supportive ethos that values each student’s unique potential. We are excited to expand the reach and refocus the impact of our national mission through the Professional Development Center’s work. We will work with changemaker cohorts across the country to have a direct, measurable impact on education from the bottom up.

Eagle Rock graduates are powerful contributors to schools, their communities, and the world. Most importantly, they know who they are, what they stand for, and they care deeply for their communities. They are catalysts for change wherever they go.

The overarching goal is that we, as a community, improve outcomes and opportunities for students that are grounded in love, liberation, leadership, and dignity. That, for me, is the ultimate north star.

Megan Rebeiro, Head of School
