Welcome to the Eagle Rock School and Professional Development Center — an award-winning residential high school for students who have not found success in traditional academic settings, and a professional development center that facilitates the efforts of educational organizations and others interested in re-engaging youth in their own education.
We see Eagle Rock as the hub in a network that supports effective practices for educators and high school students across the United States. Since 1993, we’ve been re-engaging young people in their high school education. We touch student lives through two major initiatives: our school and the Eagle Rock Professional Development Center. In fact, our sole purpose for existing — re-engaging youth in meaningful education — drives us all toward a new vision for schooling where all students are productively engaged in their own education.
Our entire staff and all of our students play a role in these efforts, from the daily work we do here at our residential high school on our mountainside campus in Estes Park, Colo., to the networks with whom our professional development staff work alongside around the country. Ultimately, we imagine a day when all high school students in the United States are deeply and meaningfully engaged in their own education.
Maybe you’re a student who has not experienced success and is interested in attending Eagle Rock. Or perhaps you’re an inspired educational leader looking for support in managing a change process. You could even be a new teacher looking for a place to begin your career (check out the Eagle Rock Public Allies Fellowship Program), or you are interested in learning about corporate social responsibility and our innovative, long-term relationship with the American Honda Motor Co.
Whatever your reason for landing here, please know that Eagle Rock is a thriving community comprised of students, educators, professional development consultants and others interested in progressive education. Members of our community as well as those we get the chance to support and work alongside, continually inspire us to new heights.
