Meg Tokunaga-Scanlon is responsible for creating and developing our music curriculum; coordinating and directing our school’s theatre and dance programs; directing various music ensembles; coordinating outreach and partnerships with local communities and the Berklee College of Music’s Southwest Network, and a Spruce House Parent. She is a native of Colorado and found her passion for teaching during high school. Meg attended VanderCook College of Music in Chicago where she earned her Bachelor of Music Education. Previous to working at Eagle Rock, she was the K-6 music teacher in a private Catholic school, taught K-8 music, theatre and dance in Chicago Public Schools, was the music director for various Jazz and Show choirs, taught private instrumental and voice lessons at Bucktown Music and is a certified KinderMusik instructor. Meg and her husband Juan — who is also a musician, teacher, and Spruce House Parent — live in Estes Park with their dog, Luna.
