Josephine Ampaw

2017/2018 Public Allies Teaching Fellow in Societies & Cultures

As the Public Allies Societies and Cultures Fellow for the 2017-2018 Year, Josephine is responsible for imparting knowledge and facilitating discussion concerning history and social studies. In this role, she also promotes understanding and appreciation of cultural backgrounds. Josephine was born in Inglewood, California, but grew up in Anaheim, California. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Feminist Studies and History (minor) at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). These years inspired her to promote and encourage representation for all, especially for people of color. In her free time, she enjoys playing the flute, piccolo, piano, and drums. She also loves to read, play Tetris, and go to the beach.
